Season Finale - "Seeing Double"
Clear Lake Chamber Ensemble's season finale "Seeing Double" is sure to be a concert you won't want to miss! 16 string students from various Clear Creek ISD high schools will join CLCE musicians on Mendelssohn's electrifying string octet in what will be the largest student/teacher collaboration in the history of CLCE. Each movement will contain a different set of students covering the lower quartet parts while the upper quartet will be performed by the teachers for the entire piece. This will be a unique opportunity for students to get a serious taste of chamber music in a professional concert setting. We are looking forward to their stellar performance!
The program will conclude with the rarely performed Shostakovich octet. While the Mendelssohn adheres to the traditional four-movement design of the string quartet, Shostakovich only writes two - a prelude and a scherzo. It is sure to be a fantasic finish to a successful season.
We hope to see you there!
